Devilled Lamb Ribs with Potato and Pea Cakes - Delicious New British Recipe to Try!

This is the delicious new recipe from our resident chef here at British Corner Shop, Hannah - Devilled Lamb Ribs with Potato and Pea Cakes.

'Devilling' is a culinary classic dating back to the 18th century when devilled kidneys could be found on the breakfast menu in fine houses.

The devil sauce has a surprisingly contemporary flavour and is fantastic with lamb as well as chicken and even white fish.

Here the Devilled Lamb Ribs are served with tasty Potato and Pea Cakes. Yummy!

Many of the ingredients are available from the online British supermarket www.britishcornershop.co.uk including Heinz Tomato Ketchup, Lea and Perrins Worcestershire Sauce and Colman's Mustard Powder. True classics!

Has Marmite really been banned in Denmark?

There was shock and outrage last week when the British media announced that Marmite had been made illegal in Denmark.

Why? Because of the added vitamins it contains which are seen as a threat to public health.

There are lots of campaigns circulating online calling for this ruling to be overturned. People are passionate about the British food, Marmite! Well, as the slogan clearly states, you either love it or hate it - and it seems that lots of people really do love it!

According to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, foods with added vitamins need to be approved before they can be marketed in Denmark and no application has been received from Marmite...

Whatever the case, the focus is definitely on Marmite!

This delicious Chicken and Ham Pie is ideal for a summer evening with a glass of chilled white wine!

It has a lovely garlic 'fadge' topping made with potatoes. Fadge was a traditional British staple food for much of the last century.

Serve with fresh vegetables for a perfect meal.
